Been A While

It has been a while ever since I updated my blog...and time flies as I have been with my partners for 6 months. True enough as wat my partner mentioned, people come people go...if it's meant for you to stay, you stay; if it's not, you wouldn't stay long...so juz leave it all up to the unseen forces...watever you can do only contributes to half of the opportunity. It applies the same to lottery, if you buy, you stand a chance to win the ticket; if not, you can't expect the top prize to fall from the sky...

Creativity

Will you let your creativity run wild first, then grab something out in the chaos and cosmos before making a decision? Or will you start to think of the limitations first, then grab something which your limitations can contain?

I would prefer the former rather than the latter. It's great to have ideas roaming around in the mind, and you try to grab a few to fit together like fitting the missing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle...Only after that, you start to think about the constraints. If you start with limiting yourself with factors like lack of money, lack of resources, your creativity doesn't get any far...

Living On Borrowed Time

It's a great new year again...and time has passed by without much notice that I have actually strived and struggled for 5 months with my partners, of course living on borrowed time. Many obstacles and barriers were cleared, and people come people go off. It seems to have hurdles behind after hurdles, awaiting for us.

Though it was merely short period of 5 months, but we felt that we have known each other for at least 5 years. Hope 2010 will be another breakthru for me...Cheers!

Knowledge Economy

Nowadays when the economy is in a flux and chaos, even banks can go bankrupt, many businesses going up and down. Everything is changing even the eyes of investors...In the past, they were looking at potential billings, but now even billings are not stable as the market condition changes. Thus they now look at asset value of a company, e.g. intellectual property, human capital, expertise, creativity.

Also to add on is that I learnt that owners don't sell good businesses, so it's good to look in-depth rather than to be superficial...

Finally Up and Running

I finally got my Company's website: Believe NJ Café up and running, after much struggle with the decision of whether to use WordPress or not. Initially, the Ngee Ann students helped with the website setup, and subsequently handed to me after their end of project. It was my first time using WordPress, and I spent some time exploring its capabilities. Nevertheless I found WordPress too restrictive and limiting, despite have many useful functions like RSS feeds, content management. It was more for blogging rather serving as a CMS.

With credits for the web design going to Josh from Edgeworks, I coded the whole website from scratch. Now, the website is LIVE!

Cold Without Warmth

It's true that you'll be expecting some coldness when an investor decides to buy a pie of your company. Especially if this business is relating to social entrepreneurship, if the cold hard results-oriented thinking is adopted, then there'll be no longer any warmth to be felt...

Fun With Them

It has been a week, and I still miss the fun in getting involved with the Ngee Ann students in their Innovation and Enterprise (I&E) in Action project. I never had so much fun during my Ngee Ann Polytechnic days...and the new age youngsters are so vibrant and fun...

They showed me creativity, perseverance, teamwork...and their team spirit were awesome, so much alive in their team...They tried hard to sell off every single inventory off: carrying baskets of muffins and pastries off, and returning with empty baskets...they were very godlike at direct selling...

To praise them for their contributed efforts, I wrote a long complimentary email to their tutor. This is what I can do for them...a very BIG Thank You to all of them!

Suprises

By not understanding a person completely would add surprises and spices to life...

I have always left myself not to be understood by most people, so I'm giving surprises now and then...SURPRISE!!

Tricks For The Old Dog

I would definitely have mixed feelings of being inferior, excited, challenging if someone knows more than I know...It spurs me to do my own research thru books and informative articles, to learn about the new stuff on the block...Nevertheless, I would be the least interested to hear from others that are teaching the old dog with outdated tricks. I wouldn't give a damn or bother about it...
