Passion For Hobby

I juz finished a meeting with 2 guys who have left their previous job for their passion in their RC toy hobby. A mere help to provide advice on their faced problems on the e-commerce website with osCommerce, and was rewarding to help such budding entrepreneurs. It was my first time to experience with osCommerce, therefore I didn't offer any charges to them. Juz a cup of Starbucks Expresso in return, haha. I understand that they needed help, and all these budding entrepreneurs really do need as much help as possible.

We shared the experiences in the risks, hardship on the route towards success. They had a vision to expand the hobby circle around, outreaching to potential hobby lovers. Would really look forward to step into their retail outlet soon, haha!

Do For The Sake Of Doing

In our academic days, we used to fill the assignment report with watever ideas that we could throw in, especially for business modules. A whole lot of ideas would be thrown into a business plan or marketing plan report, without giving a consideration of whether these ideas were feasible and cost-efficient or not. This was juz doing for the sake of doing, where the main priority was to hand in the assignment before dateline; while praying hard for high marks at the same time, haha...

In the business world we are dealing today, churning out ideas can be great. However, ideas need to be feasible, cost-efficient, effective and realistic...

You can't run newspaper ads for couple of weeks with a 2 grand budget.

You can't start giving out marketing fliers and expect crowd rushing in your outlet.

Changing Mindsets

The recent recession has the largest impact on the whole world's economy; all these lost jobs would most likely be lost forever, and can't be recovered from the words of an I.T. firm Managing Director. The workforce can no longer have an employee mindset: where he/she juz come to the office, work under orders and supervision, and receives wages at the end of the month. He recommended that the workforce should rather have a different mindset: where he/she can really add value to the business or company, provides possible business continuity and expansion, so as to create new jobs and maintain his/her own as well.
